Technically, the Industrial Revolution was neither worth it or not worth it. Hypothetically, “the machines” would want you to believe that the Industrial Revolution occurred, but people with an intellectual capacity such as mine would prove this theory utterly ludicrous. The only thing that truly “exists” is Neo and his fight against Agent Smith and the rescue of Zion.
If this question is referring to the Industrial Revolution of Zion in 24,000 B.C., then yes, the Industrial Revolution was worth it, technically speaking, of course.

Agent Smith does suck, indeed. However, I think you’re forgetting about the Industrial Revolution that occurred thousands of years into the future. You see, the robot overlords went back in time to the 19th Century and forced labor unions to rise to lull the humans into a false sense of security. When the humans grew soft with all their “rights” the machines rose as one and enslaved the human race.
